Chemical cleaning units

Chemical cleaning units

Removal from the water dissolved or formed during its treatment gases is called degassing.

Typically, from water are removed carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and oxygen.

The first three corrosive gas contribute either to catalyze the processes of metal corrosion, and carbon dioxide causes corrosion of concrete.

With the latest developments in the field of membrane technology in recent years widespread membrane methods of water treatment.

Membrane separation processes are based on the superiority of the permeability of one or more components of the liquid or gas mixture, as well as colloidal systems through the partition wall-membrane.

Phase which passed through it is called the permeate (sometimes - filtrate), rejected - concentrate.

Membrane processes can be caused by pressure gradients (baromembrane processes), the electric potential (electro-processes), concentration (diffusion-membrane processes), or a combination of several factors.

The principle of membrane degassing units is the diffusive transport of dissolved gases (O2 and / or CO2) in the flow of an inert carrier gas (or vacuum) through the pores of hydrophobic membranes in the gradient of chemical potential.

The membrane in this case is organizing the interface and acts as a barrier to water (no water passes through the membrane, because it is not wetted) and allows to develop a large interphase surface.
